Kevin Martin Curling Academy
St. Paul Curlers have a wonderful opportunity to learn from legendary curler Kevin Martin. Kevin is considered by many commentators and former and current curlers to be the greatest curler of all time (and we certainly agree!) Kevin played over 30 years, retiring in 2014. He is an Olympic gold and silver medalist, Canadian and World champion, and has won a total of 18 Grand Slam titles including a record 8 Player's Championship titles. His teams have won over $2 million on the World Curling Tour. Kevin is offering a daytime class at St. Paul Curling Club Wednesday May 2nd at 1:30 PM. St. Paul Curlers can also register one of Kevin’s classes at Chaska Curling Center Wednesday night at 5:45 PM or 8:00 PM or at the Four Seasons Curling Club Thursday, May 3rd at 7:00 PM.
Participant feedback from last year:
"Kevin Martin's camp was a game changer. I was ready to quit, then I took the camp and I'm curling the best I've curled in my life."
"Just the simplest tweaks made a huge difference. Really fun to learn from the best in the world."
Space is limited. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to improve your curling game. Kevin loves working with people of all ages. Click HERE to sign up and get more information. Proceeds from the camp go to support the Lupus Research Foundation.
Lupus Spiel, May 4-6 (Four Seasons) A FEW TEAM SPOTS ARE LEFT!
Lupus Spiel USA, the largest charity curling Professional-Amateur bonspiel in the U.S.
It is May 4-6 at Fogerty Arena Four Seasons Curling Club in Blaine.
The organizer, Regan Birr, has lupus. Together with her husband, Todd Birr, they've created the Lupus Research Foundation, which hosts the spiel. The spiel supports the LRF mission to help find a cure for lupus by raising funds for lupus research and by raising awareness.
The LRF is a tax-exempt (501c3) non profit organization so your contribution is tax-deductible.
How it works: Olympic and National-Champion curlers are paired up with amateur curlers of ANY skill level. There is a 3-game guarantee, with fun games and prizes. You pay an entry fee, and then raise money to be able to pick your skip. ALL THE TOOLS for fundraising are on our website, www.letscurelupus.org. You can sign up as an individual, pair, or team of 3. EVERY TEAM gets a CELEBRITY SKIP. But if you fundraise, you get your choice. The top fundraisers get first pick, and we go from there. If you can bring in corporate sponsorship, that counts towards picking your skip.
Kevin Martin will be skipping. He is the "best curler of all time", with two Olympic medals and the most winnings in the world. You also have the chance to pick: 2018 U.S. Olympians Nina Roth and Becca Hamilton, World Champion Scott Howard (Canada), Olympians Allison Pottinger, Jessica Schultz and Courtney George, National Champions Pete and Maureen Stolt, and World Bronze medalist skip, Todd Birr.
There is NO requirement for level of curling, beginners are welcome! In fact, beginners are the best curlers for the spiel, because the skips are eager to help, encourage, and teach! This is a family event, with lots of great times.
There are parties Friday and Saturday night, with food and drink all weekend.

Founded in 1912, our curling club is the largest curling club in the country with over 1,200 members.
Guests and spectators are always welcome to visit our club and watch live curling games from our heated club room and upstairs bar area. League games are played Monday through Sunday from 4pm to 11pm from early October to mid-April. Spring league runs from mid-April until the end of May.
Interested in trying curling with a group of friends or work colleagues? Our ice sheets and club room area are available to rent. Holding your business meeting or social gathering at the historic St. Paul Curling Club is a great way to make memories.
The St Paul Curling Foundation (SPCF) is now open for business. Members have often asked if they can make tax-deductible contributions to support SPCC and now they can. The SPCF exists to raise money for the Foundation's various supported causes, including junior curling, curling education, and the historic preservation of the St Paul Curling Club. Eligible parties can apply for funding from the Foundation, and anyone can contribute to these causes by donating to the Foundation. Donations can be made by credit card or PayPal, by leaving a check at the club, or by contacting your financial institution to perform a bank transfer.
